Lemon Myrtle

Size: 10ml
Lemon Myrtle appears to have always been somewhat rare in the wild. Very small volumes of Lemon Myrtle essential oil were steam distilled by German Australians from the leaves of wild trees around Gympie in 1888 until World War One. The same tree was exploited during World War II when lemon essence was in short supply. Harvesting ceased again until 1989 when native food pioneers near Byron Bay rediscovered the tree's potential as a delicious herb or tea flavoring.
